Help support the preservation of a remarkable piece of history at the Pioneer Museum of Alabama. You can contribute to the restoration of an authentic 1881 logging locomotive, a prominent feature on the museum grounds in Troy, AL. This historic train was generously donated to the Pioneer Museum in 1992 by Earl M. McGowin for permanent exhibition. Notably, Elonzo Huble Williams, father of the legendary Hank Williams Sr., once served as an engineer on this very locomotive for the W. T. Smith Lumber Company in Chapman, Alabama.

Pioneer Days: October 10th & 11th
Mark your calendars for Pioneer Days at the Pioneer Museum of Alabama! On October 10th and 11th, the museum grounds will transform into a bustling hub of traditional crafts and activities. Skilled craftsmen will be on-site demonstrating age-old techniques such as rope making, woodworking, spinning, and jewelry making. Delight in the aromas and flavors of Dutch oven cooking and explore many more demonstrations that showcase pioneer life. Admission to Pioneer Days is $12.00, with free entry for museum members and children under 5. It’s a perfect family outing at the Pioneer Museum Troy AL.
