Pioneer Cemetery Infestation Nest Locations
There are three Infestation Nests scattered across the Pioneer Cemetery area. While they are not clustered together, using your bike is highly recommended to swiftly move between locations. Remember to manage your fuel efficiently to avoid getting stranded in this dangerous zone.
Nest #1: Roadside Shack Infestation

The first Pioneer Cemetery Infestation Nest is conveniently located just off the main road leading to the cemetery. As you approach the Pioneer Cemetery, keep an eye out for an infested shack situated beside the road. This nest is easily accessible and serves as a good starting point for clearing the area.
Nest #2: North-West Parking Lot Building Infestation

To find the second nest, venture to the North-West of the Pioneer Cemetery. You’ll encounter a small parking lot. Within this parking lot, locate a building that has become overrun by Freakers. This infested building houses the second Infestation Nest you need to destroy.
Nest #3: Cemetery Barn Infestation Within Walls
The final Infestation Nest is located inside the Pioneer Cemetery walls. Enter through the main gates and proceed over the central hill within the cemetery grounds. On the other side of the hill, you’ll spot a distinctive red barn. This barn is the location of the third and final Pioneer Cemetery Infestation Nest.
If you find yourself short on Molotov Cocktails while clearing the barn nest, don’t worry. Scavenge around the infested barn area for crafting supplies. You can find kerosene and rags on a crate near the barn, and a beer bottle is located by a nearby tree, allowing you to craft more Molotovs on the spot.
Pioneer Cemetery Survival Tactics
The Pioneer Cemetery is a story-critical location, and as such, it is heavily populated with Freakers. While nighttime generally makes infestations easier to clear due to Freakers wandering away, the Pioneer Cemetery is an exception. At night, the area becomes even more dangerous as Freakers swarm the cemetery, making survival significantly harder. It’s generally advisable to tackle this infestation during the daytime for a slightly less overwhelming experience.
Utilizing the NERO Research Site
Just north of the Pioneer Cemetery gates, following the main road, you’ll discover an abandoned NERO Research Site. This location is a haven for scavenging essential supplies.
The NERO Research Site offers numerous items to loot, including a NERO injector which can boost Deacon’s stats, although you’ll need to deal with some Freakers to access it. Locate a fuel can and power up the generator to unlock the doors to the NERO research unit. The injector will be inside on a table.
Furthermore, the NERO site provides a bed to advance time to daylight if you find yourself tackling the cemetery at night, and a gun locker to adjust Deacon’s weapon loadout. Having this safe location nearby can be incredibly beneficial when dealing with the dangers of the Pioneer Cemetery infestation.
