Pioneer Sports And Spine is excited to announce the addition of Cara, a highly experienced and dedicated physical therapist, to their growing team. With nearly two decades of experience in orthopedics and sports injuries, Cara brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for patient-centered care to Pioneer Sports and Spine. Her commitment to helping individuals recover and achieve their physical goals aligns perfectly with the clinic’s mission to provide exceptional care in the Pacific Northwest.
Cara’s journey in physical therapy began with her undergraduate degree in Applied Health and Science, followed by a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Pacific University in Oregon. Her specialization in general orthopedics and sports injuries has been honed over 19 years of working with a diverse patient population, from young athletes to older adults, in both outpatient and home health settings. This extensive background makes her a valuable asset to Pioneer Sports and Spine, ensuring patients receive comprehensive and effective treatment.
Throughout her impressive career, Cara has gained unique experiences as a traveling therapist, collaborating with various orthopedic surgeon groups across the country. Notably, she served as a Civilian outpatient orthopedic PT for the US Army at Fort Lewis, WA, treating active duty soldiers with acute and post-operative conditions. Her time in Atlanta, GA, for 12 years, further enriched her expertise, including working in a clinic alongside team physicians for the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks. She also served as an orthopedic manager, collaborating with leading orthopedic surgeons. This diverse exposure has shaped her holistic approach to care at Pioneer Sports and Spine.
Cara’s treatment philosophy emphasizes a blend of manual therapy techniques and evidence-based functional and sport-specific exercises. She is dedicated to providing personalized, one-on-one care, guiding her clients through every step of their recovery journey at Pioneer Sports and Spine. Her return to Boise, where she previously lived after graduate school, reflects her and her husband’s desire to be closer to family and enjoy the Pacific Northwest lifestyle once again. Outside of her professional life at Pioneer Sports and Spine, Cara enjoys traveling, staying active, and watching football, bringing a well-rounded perspective to her practice and patient interactions.
