Pioneer Chevrolet in Marietta Welcomes New Ownership, Continuing Legacy of Service

Two established auto dealerships in Marietta, Ohio, including the well-known Pioneer Chevrolet, and one in Parkersburg, West Virginia, have transitioned to new ownership, marking a significant development in the local automotive landscape. The Tim Lamb Group, a prominent dealership brokerage firm, facilitated the sale on behalf of Richard Nourse to Thomas and Ashley Peden. This acquisition, finalized on October 17th, signals an exciting chapter for these dealerships and the communities they serve.

The dealerships involved in this transaction include Pioneer Chevrolet located at 1315 Pike St. in Marietta, which will retain its established name, alongside Family Ford Lincoln in Marietta, which will be rebranded as Pioneer Ford Lincoln, and Pioneer Honda of Parkersburg, set to become Parkersburg Honda. For customers of Pioneer Chevrolet, this transition promises a continuation of the dealership’s commitment to quality service and community engagement under fresh leadership.

Richard Nourse, after dedicating over 35 years to the automotive market in the Ohio-West Virginia border region, has decided to streamline his focus towards his remaining five dealerships in Chillicothe. These encompass Ford, Honda, Lincoln, Nissan, and Toyota brands. Nourse expressed confidence in the Pedens, stating, “I’ve heard great things about the Pedens and the accomplishments they have achieved in the Zanesville market, and I knew they would be great stewards to continue what we have built in the community.” This endorsement underscores the strong reputation of the Pedens within the automotive industry and their commitment to upholding community values.

Thomas Peden II, a West Virginia native and third-generation car dealer, along with his sister Ashley Peden, bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to Pioneer Chevrolet and the other dealerships. Having successfully managed dealerships in Zanesville since June 2020, the Pedens are enthusiastic about expanding their footprint in the region. The proximity of the newly acquired dealerships to their upbringing, all within a 15-mile radius and about 45 minutes from their hometown, adds a personal touch to this venture.

Furthermore, they intend to actively participate in the community organizations previously supported by Nourse, reinforcing their dedication to local engagement and social responsibility. This approach signals a smooth transition and a continued positive presence for Pioneer Chevrolet in Marietta and the surrounding areas.
