Welcome to Pioneer Park in Zolfo Springs! To ensure a pleasant and enjoyable experience for all visitors, we kindly ask for your attention to the following park rules. Pioneer Park is owned and operated by the County Government, and we appreciate your cooperation in maintaining its beauty and order. All camping units are required to display a current and visible tag.
Camping and Campsite Regulations
To ensure fair access and maintain the park’s natural environment, please adhere to the following campsite rules:
- No Reservations: Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Designated Sites Only: Please set up camp only within marked and designated campsites.
- Limited Vehicles: Each campsite permits one camping unit and one vehicle.
- Protect Park Property: Attaching ropes or wires to trees or buildings is prohibited to protect the park’s natural elements and structures.
- Doormat Size: Doormats should not exceed 3’x 4’ in size to minimize impact on the grassy areas.
- Waste Disposal: Properly dispose of all trash in the provided garbage cans or dumpsters to keep the park clean and prevent wildlife attraction.
- Dump Station: A dump station is conveniently located at the west end of the park for registered campers.
- No Ground Water Dumping: Dumping water on the ground is strictly prohibited, and this includes the washing of vehicles, trailers, or motor homes within the park premises.
- Ground Coverings: The use of boards, pallets, blocks, or similar items directly on the grass is not allowed to preserve the vegetation.
- Campsite Orderliness: Maintain a neat and orderly arrangement of all items outside your camping unit to ensure a pleasant environment for everyone.
- Campfire Safety: Campfires are permitted, but please exercise extreme caution and ensure fires are contained and safely extinguished.
- Departure Condition: Upon departure, all campsites must be left clean and neat for the next visitors to enjoy.
Amenities, Conduct, and Activities
Pioneer Park offers various amenities and activities. Please respect these guidelines to ensure a harmonious environment for all park users:
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: Restrooms with showers are available for registered campers. For non-campers, showers are accessible for a fee of $2.00 per shower, payable at the Park Office.
- Child Supervision: Parents or guardians are responsible for the supervision and safety of children at all times while within the park.
- Pet Policy: Pets are welcome (maximum of two per campsite), but they must be kept on a leash no longer than ten feet at all times. Pets are not permitted inside park buildings or near the designated Wildlife Refuge area. Please do not leave pets unattended, and any pet disturbances will not be tolerated. Pet owners are responsible for immediately cleaning up all pet waste.
- No Swimming: Swimming is prohibited in all park waters for safety reasons.
- Fishing and Boating: Fishing is allowed from the banks of Pioneer Lake, Rock Lake, and the Peace River. Boats are permitted only on the Peace River, and a boat ramp is available for your convenience.
