Amundi Pioneer Rebrands as Amundi US to Strengthen Global Identity

Boston, MA – Amundi Pioneer, a well-established name in the US asset management landscape, has announced a significant shift in its brand identity. Effective January 1, 2021, Amundi Pioneer will operate under the new name Amundi US. This rebranding initiative marks a strategic move to align the US business more closely with the global identity of Amundi, Europe’s leading asset manager. The transition from Amundi Pioneer to Amundi US signifies a simplification of the corporate brand, leveraging the robust global recognition of the Amundi name.

This rebranding follows Amundi’s acquisition of Pioneer Investments in July 2017, which initially led to the adoption of the Amundi Pioneer brand. Now, as Amundi’s US presence matures and integrates further into the global organization, the decision to rebrand as Amundi US underscores the firm’s commitment to operating as a unified global entity.

Lisa Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Amundi Pioneer, commented on this strategic evolution, stating, “The adoption of Amundi US as our new brand reinforces our connection to the global Amundi brand and streamlines our corporate image. As a top-ten global asset management firm and the largest in Europe, managing $1.9 trillion in assets, with over $350 billion dedicated to Responsible Investments, we are enthusiastic about this rebranding. Our US client base increasingly seeks the diverse insights and capabilities that come with partnering with a global leader and innovator in responsible investing.”

Boston remains a cornerstone of Amundi’s global investment strategy, serving as one of its six key investment hubs worldwide. From this hub, Amundi manages a comprehensive suite of investment solutions, spanning fixed income, equity, and multi-asset strategies. These solutions cater to a diverse clientele of retail and institutional investors across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. Crucially, the rebranding to Amundi US will not entail any changes to the leadership, personnel, product offerings, services, or operational resources.

While the corporate brand in the US is evolving to Amundi US, the legacy and strong reputation of the Pioneer brand will be preserved within the retail investment sector. The Pioneer name will continue to be utilized for retail funds distributed in the US and internationally. This means that long-standing US mutual funds and UCITS will maintain their Pioneer branding. For example, the Pioneer Fund, Amundi Pioneer’s flagship fund established in 1928, will retain its name, and its UCITS equivalent will remain Amundi Funds – US Pioneer Fund. This strategic decision acknowledges the historical significance and brand equity associated with Pioneer in the retail market.

The rebranding initiative encompasses several key changes, all effective from January 1, 2021. Amundi US will adopt Amundi’s global logo, ensuring visual consistency across the organization. US websites, social media platforms, product literature, marketing collateral, and email communications will also be updated to reflect the new Amundi US brand. Furthermore, the legal entity names within the US will be formally adjusted to align with the new branding, completing the comprehensive rebranding process.
