Welcome to the New Pioneer Gun Club, a premier destination for shooting sports enthusiasts. To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all members, we have established a comprehensive set of rules and regulations. Understanding and adhering to these guidelines is a condition of membership and crucial for maintaining the high standards of our club. This document outlines the key rules every member must follow.
Prioritizing Safety and Responsible Conduct
At the New Pioneer Gun Club, safety is our paramount concern. Alongside safety, we emphasize responsible and courteous conduct to foster a positive community atmosphere.
Safety First: Mandatory Compliance
- Safety Gear and Annual Orientation: All members are required to wear appropriate safety gear at all times within club premises. This includes, but is not limited to, eye and ear protection. Furthermore, both new and existing members must complete an annual safety orientation to refresh their knowledge of best practices and club-specific safety protocols. This mandatory orientation ensures everyone is aligned with our safety standards and contributes to a secure shooting environment.
- Responsible Firearm Handling: Handling firearms responsibly is non-negotiable. Members are expected to treat every firearm as if it is loaded, always point firearms in a safe direction, keep their finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, and be certain of their target and what is beyond it. Strict adherence to these fundamental firearm safety rules is expected at all times.
- Respectful Conduct and Noise Management: The New Pioneer Gun Club prides itself on a respectful and sportsmanlike atmosphere. Members are expected to conduct themselves courteously towards each other, respecting personal space and time. Maintaining noise levels at a minimum is also essential to ensure a comfortable experience for everyone and to comply with local noise ordinances. Any form of harassment or discrimination is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
Member Responsibilities and Care for Club Property
Membership at the New Pioneer Gun Club comes with shared responsibilities towards maintaining the facilities and equipment for the benefit of all.
Upholding Cleanliness and Property Standards
- Care for Club Property and Liability: Members are accountable for the proper use of all club property, including firearms (if rented), targets, and facilities. Any damage to club property resulting from negligence or misuse will result in penalties, which may include repair costs or membership suspension. Members agree to use the facilities at their own risk and acknowledge that the club is not liable for personal injury or property damage sustained while on the premises. Members also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the club from any claims arising from their use of the club’s facilities.
- Clay Target Machine Operation: For members participating in Trap or Skeet shooting, filling clay target machines is a shared responsibility. After completing a round, members are expected to refill the machines they have used. Should a member be physically unable to fill machines, they should notify club staff for assistance. Proper handling of the machines, according to provided instructions, is crucial for their longevity and functionality.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Cleanliness is a shared responsibility. Members are expected to clean up after themselves immediately after shooting. This includes the proper disposal of used target boxes, spent shell casings, and any other waste materials in the designated receptacles. Maintaining a clean shooting environment enhances the experience for everyone and shows respect for the club and fellow members.
