“THE GAME’S AFOOTA Sherlock Holmes Mystery” – June 6-June 28

Kick off the summer season with a bang with “THE GAME’S AFOOTA Sherlock Holmes Mystery” by Ken Ludwig. Running from June 6th to June 28th, this award-winning play is a hilarious and suspenseful whodunit. Set in 1936, Broadway star William Gillette, famous for his Sherlock Holmes portrayal, invites his cast to his mansion for a weekend. When a guest is murdered, Gillette must channel his inner Holmes to solve the crime in a house full of tricks and mirrors. Expect a rollercoaster of thrills and laughter! This play won the Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best Play from the Mystery Writers of America, ensuring a high-quality theatrical experience.

“WALKING ACROSS EGYPT” – July 1 -July 19

From July 1st to July 19th, prepare for heartwarming laughter with “WALKING ACROSS EGYPT,” adapted by Catherine Bush from the beloved book by Clyde Edgerton. This Southern comedy tells the story of Mattie Rigsbee, a kind-hearted woman whose life takes unexpected turns when she decides to help a stray dog. Her good intentions lead to car theft, prison breaks, and an encounter with a juvenile delinquent named Wesley. Mattie’s faith, humor, and mouthwatering cornbread guide her through a series of hilarious events as she tries to make things right, all while trying to stay out of jail herself! Playing from July 22nd to August 9th, this zany new comedy is set in 1988 and introduces us to the Smiths and the Joneses, seemingly perfect neighbors. Their idyllic suburban life is disrupted when the Joneses receive news that is literally out of this world – they are moving a zillion light years away! How do you tell your best friends and future in-laws that you’re leaving for outer space? This delightfully quirky play, winner of the New Works/Las Vegas Little Theatre Company award, promises an evening of unique and hilarious entertainment.

“Good Rockin’ Tonight! Elvis Presley and his Rockabilly Queen, Wanda Jackson!” – August 14, 15, 16

Conclude the season with a high-energy musical tribute to rock and roll legends! On August 14th, 15th, and 16th, “Good Rockin’ Tonight! Elvis Presley and his Rockabilly Queen, Wanda Jackson!” will take the stage. Celebrate the King of Rock and Roll and the Queen of Rockabilly with two Elvises and one Wanda, backed by a full live band! This special event has an earlier start time of 8:00 pm. It’s the perfect way to rock out and celebrate the end of another fantastic season at Pioneer Playhouse.

Dinner is served at 7:30 pm, followed by the show at 8:30 pm EDT, except for Elvis weekend where dinner is at 7:00 pm and the show starts at 8:00 pm.

Rain Policy

Performances are held outdoors in the historic amphitheater. In case of light rain, the show will continue. If severe weather forces a cancellation, rain checks will be issued, allowing you to attend another performance during the season. Shows are not considered rained out until show time, and delays or pauses may occur to wait for passing weather.
