Pioneer Chevrolet Ohio Under New Ownership as Part of Dealership Acquisition

The automotive landscape in the Ohio-West Virginia border region has seen a significant shift with the recent acquisition of three dealerships, including Pioneer Chevrolet Ohio, by Thomas and Ashley Peden. This strategic move, brokered by the Tim Lamb Group, marks a new chapter for these established businesses and promises continued service to the local communities.

The transaction, finalized on October 17th, involved the sale of Pioneer Chevrolet, located at 1315 Pike St. in Marietta, Ohio, alongside Family Ford Lincoln in Marietta and Pioneer Honda of Parkersburg in West Virginia. For customers of Pioneer Chevrolet Ohio, it’s reassuring to know that under the new ownership, the dealership will retain its well-known name and continue to operate from its current location. This continuity is a testament to the strong reputation and community presence that Pioneer Chevrolet has cultivated over the years.

Richard Nourse, the previous owner, decided to sell these three dealerships to focus on his remaining five locations in Chillicothe, Ohio. Nourse, a veteran of the automotive industry with over 35 years in the market, expressed confidence in the Pedens as the ideal successors. He noted his careful consideration in choosing buyers who would not only maintain but also enhance the dealerships’ standing within the community.

Thomas Peden II, a West Virginia native and third-generation car dealer, along with his sister Ashley, are enthusiastic about expanding their automotive group. Having successfully managed dealerships in Zanesville, Ohio since 2020, the Pedens bring a wealth of experience and a commitment to community engagement. Their acquisition of Pioneer Chevrolet Ohio and the other dealerships is a strategic move to grow their footprint in the region where they have deep roots.

While Pioneer Chevrolet will maintain its name, there will be changes for the other dealerships involved. Pioneer Honda of Parkersburg will be rebranded as Parkersburg Honda, and Family Ford Lincoln in Marietta will become Pioneer Ford Lincoln. These name adjustments reflect a subtle shift in branding while still acknowledging the legacy of the previous ownership.

The Pedens have expressed their intention to retain the existing teams at all locations and to continue supporting the community organizations that were important to Richard Nourse. This commitment to both employees and the local community signals a smooth transition and a dedication to building upon the established foundations of dealerships like Pioneer Chevrolet Ohio. For residents of Marietta, Ohio, and the surrounding areas, this acquisition ensures that Pioneer Chevrolet Ohio will continue to be a reliable source for Chevrolet vehicles and automotive services under experienced and community-focused ownership.
