Following in-depth discussions and on-site evaluations, GBA played a crucial role in outlining viable options encompassing design considerations, dimensional accuracy, specification reviews, and effective project execution strategies.
The success of the Pioneer Tower restoration hinged on meticulous planning and an unwavering attention to detail. The tower’s design incorporates four prominent vertical glass block walls, stretching an impressive 14 stories, specifically from the 13th to the 27th floors. This architectural feature necessitated a substantial quantity of materials. For this project, over 6,210 individual pieces of the premium 6″ x 6″ x 4″ ARGUS® glass block were carefully chosen. These specific glass blocks were selected not only for their superior quality and durability but also for their aesthetic appeal, perfectly aligning with the vision of restoring the tower’s original luminous charm.
Beyond just the glass blocks, a critical aspect of the restoration was ensuring their secure and lasting integration into the tower structure. Extensive reviews and evaluations were conducted to determine the optimal tieback options.
