Dr. Leah Kobes, a board-certified family physician, brings a wealth of local knowledge and a genuine passion for family medicine to Pioneer Family Medicine in Deer Park. Growing up in Spokane and spending years in the small towns of Eastern Washington, Dr. Kobes has deep roots in the Inland Northwest. Her journey in medicine is fueled by a desire to serve smaller communities, providing accessible and personalized healthcare.
Dr. Kobes’s educational background is as diverse as her interests. She graduated from Washington State University with degrees in both Music (trumpet) and Genetics, showcasing her multifaceted talents and intellectual curiosity. Prior to medical school, she gained valuable hands-on experience working as a nurse aide in an assisted living facility and even as a school bus driver, demonstrating her commitment to caring for others and understanding the diverse needs of her community.
She pursued her medical degree through the WWAMI program at the University of Washington, spending her initial years in Pullman and Spokane. Her passion for family medicine in smaller towns led her to clinical rotations in Grand Coulee and Colfax, further solidifying her commitment. After completing her residency at the Family Medicine Residency Spokane in June 2019, Dr. Kobes moved from Wilbur, WA, to Deer Park to begin her practice.
Board certified by the American Board of Family Physicians, Dr. Kobes is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Washington Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Washington Rural Health Association, and the Spokane County Medical Society. In July 2020, she realized her vision by opening Pioneer Family Medicine in Deer Park, establishing a private practice dedicated to serving the community for years to come.
Beyond her professional life, Dr. Kobes cherishes time with her young son and daughter. Her personal interests are as varied as they are enriching, including fishing, square dancing, hiking, woodworking, cooking, playing music, farming, and spending quality time with family. This well-rounded approach to life reflects her holistic perspective on patient care.

Ryan Agostinelli PA-C, experienced Physician Assistant at Pioneer Family Medicine in Deer Park
Ryan D. Agostinelli, PA-C, considers himself a native of the Inland Northwest, having grown up in Post Falls, Idaho. His path to becoming a family-practice Physician Assistant was inspired by observing his father, a medical massage therapist, build meaningful connections with patients while providing them with essential care. This early exposure sparked Ryan’s desire to pursue a healthcare career where he could similarly make a positive impact.
As a Physician Assistant at Pioneer Family Medicine, Ryan is passionate about understanding each patient’s unique health needs and goals. His philosophy of medicine is rooted in the belief that the body has an innate capacity to heal when supported by healthy lifestyle choices, proper nutrition, psychological well-being, and appropriate medical interventions. While trained in allopathic (Western) medicine, Ryan is committed to lifelong learning and exploring alternative and holistic approaches to healthcare to better serve his patients.
Outside of Pioneer Family Medicine, Ryan’s life is centered around his wife and two energetic daughters. Guided by Christian principles, they maintain an active family life. His wife homeschools their daughters and enjoys sewing, while Ryan embraces his role as a “fixer-upper” and DIY enthusiast around their home. Looking towards the future, they aspire to acquire acreage and further cultivate their interests in self-sufficiency and natural living.
