Spirits in Sky: Children of the Light are essential to your journey, each holding fragments of the realm’s history and offering unique expressions and cosmetic items. In the rain-soaked Hidden Forest, finding these spirits presents a unique challenge compared to areas like Daylight Prairie. The constant rain can extinguish your light, making exploration and spirit retrieval more precarious. This guide will navigate you through the misty woods to locate all eight spirits in Hidden Forest, including the elusive Hide ‘N’ Seek Pioneer, ensuring you don’t miss a single memory or reward.
Spirit One – Shivering Trailblazer
Upon entering Hidden Forest, proceed forward through the initial stone archway. This opens into the first area of the realm. Directly ahead, you’ll spot a stone structure with a door adorned with intricate patterns.
Approach this stone building. To open the door, ignite the diamond-shaped emblem on its right side. Once inside, continue straight ahead to face the next door.
Now, turn your gaze to the left. The Shivering Trailblazer spirit will be clearly visible, kneeling. Approach and interact with the spirit by pressing Y. You will then embark on following their memories. The memory trail will guide you back through the gate you just encountered. To open this gate again, light the diamond on the right.
Continue following the spirit’s memories until you reach their trapped form. Interact one last time to release the Shivering Trailblazer.
Spirit Two – Blushing Prospector
The Hidden Forest now introduces its defining feature: rain. Be mindful of your light meter as you explore, as prolonged exposure to rain will diminish your light.
After freeing the Shivering Trailblazer, you should find yourself within a sheltered tree base. Look outwards and slightly to your right; another gate will be visible. Head towards this gate, seeking cover from the rain whenever possible.
After passing through this second gate, walk past the trees with prominent mushrooms and make your way towards the shelter that houses a messaging area.
Take refuge in this shelter and look to your left. Through the trees, you should notice a glowing blue light – this indicates the Blushing Prospector spirit. Head towards this light, and consider flying to expedite your journey.
Tip: Enhancing your flight capabilities by collecting Winged Lights in Daylight Prairie before venturing into Hidden Forest can significantly aid your exploration.
Interact with the Blushing Prospector to initiate their memory sequence. The memory trail will traverse a series of gorges, so proceed cautiously to avoid falling. Eventually, the trail will lead you to the trapped spirit in a sheltered spot, where you can set them free.
Spirit Three – Pouty Porter
Leaving the Blushing Prospector’s location, move gently to your left, as if you were exiting the area. As you re-emerge into a more open space, a tree with a hollow base will be on your right.
Continue past this tree, and almost immediately, you’ll notice an opening in the rock face to your left. The Pouty Porter spirit is situated directly at the entrance of this opening, making them easily visible.
Interact with the Pouty Porter and follow their memories through the tunnel to release them.
Spirit Four – Hide ‘N’ Seek Pioneer
From the Pouty Porter’s location, backtrack towards the lower level of the Hidden Forest (you should currently be on a higher elevation). Scan your surroundings for a hole in the rock, distinguished by a mushroom growing above it. This is the entrance to the Hide ‘N’ Seek Pioneer spirit’s hiding place.
If you are the first to arrive, darkness will likely obstruct the cave entrance. To clear it, stand in front of the opening and press Y to burn away the darkness.
Once the darkness is cleared, enter the cave. The initial cave section contains creatures. Navigate through this first section and proceed to the adjacent cave on your right.
Caution: Be wary of the creatures within these caves, as they can inflict harm. Try to evade them, as they can be quite aggressive.
The Hide ‘N’ Seek Pioneer spirit will be in plain sight as you enter the second cave. Interact with them and follow their memory trail to finally release this adventurous spirit.
Proceed to the next area of Hidden Forest.
Spirit Five – Apologetic Lumberjack
Upon entering this new area, continue moving forward but direct your gaze to the left. You are looking for a distinctive structure covered in mushrooms (it will stand out from the surrounding mushroom clusters).
Approach this mushroom-laden structure. If the Apologetic Lumberjack spirit isn’t immediately visible, circle around the structure until they come into view.
Interact with the Apologetic Lumberjack and follow their memories. This will lead you to their trapped spirit. Upon release, they will join the other spirits awaiting you at the Temple.
Spirit Six – Dismayed Hunter
Return to the entrance of this area – the point where you initially entered.
As soon as you re-enter, look slightly ahead and to your right. The Dismayed Hunter spirit will be visible. Thankfully, they are located in a sheltered spot, allowing you to interact without worrying about rain extinguishing your light.
Follow the Dismayed Hunter’s memories through the tunnels until you reach their trapped spirit. Release them to continue your spirit collection.
Proceed to the next section of Hidden Forest.
Spirit Seven – Whale Whisperer
In this next area, you will see a bridge leading upwards towards the Temple. Before stepping onto the bridge, halt and look to your left. A small grey building should be visible.
Head towards this grey building, be aware that you might lose some light due to rain exposure, but it shouldn’t be significant.
Upon reaching the building, you’ll encounter a giant skeleton consumed by darkness. Time to bring out your candles and burn away the darkness!
Walk up to the skeleton and stand close. Press Y to begin burning away sections of the darkness. For effective burning, remain stationary until each section is fully cleared.
This process may take a little while, but eventually, all the darkness will be eradicated, and you will be rewarded with the Whale Whisperer spirit. This spirit unlocks a unique call sound for your character.
You can access this new call from your side menu by pressing X and navigating to your expressions. The Whale Whisperer spirit itself will be available in the constellation at the Temple at the end of the game.
Spirit Eight – Tearful Light Miner

Once you have passed the third structure on the bridge leading to the Temple, stop in the middle of the bridge and look to your right. You will see an area that might initially appear empty, but the Tearful Light Miner spirit is concealed there. It should resemble the image below:
The Tearful Light Miner spirit is hidden within a cave. You’ll need to brave the rain and potential light loss to reach it. Initially, when flying towards the location, the cave entrance can be quite difficult to discern.
Upon entering the cave, interact with the Tearful Light Miner spirit and begin following their memories.
This spirit’s memory sequence has a unique element. You will encounter a memory that is initially impassable. To proceed, you must use Y to burn away the darkness obstructing one of the memories. After clearing the darkness, you can continue following the remaining memories and finally free the Tearful Light Miner.
With all eight spirits of Hidden Forest now freed, you’ve completed this realm’s spiritual journey!
