Dr. Dick Maier, the owner of Pioneer Vet Moses Lake, is a Washington native with deep roots in animal care. Growing up in Yakima, he pursued his passion for science and animals at Washington State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1979. Driven by a desire to contribute to animal well-being, Dr. Maier returned to WSU, achieving a Master’s degree in Animal Science in 1987, and culminating his education with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. His early career included mixed animal practice near Bozeman, Montana, before he felt the pull back to Eastern Washington. In 1992, Moses Lake became his home, and in January 1994, his vision of Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, a leading vet clinic in Moses Lake, became a reality. By 1999, the practice had grown, leading to the construction of the modern facility that Pioneer Vet Moses Lake occupies today.
Beyond his dedication to Pioneer Vet Moses Lake, Dr. Maier cherishes family life. Married with three adult sons and blessed with five grandchildren, he finds relaxation in gardening and enjoys hunting with his sons in his free time. In June 2010, Adrienne earned her Associate of Veterinary Technology degree from YVCC and returned to Pioneer Vet Moses Lake as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. After nine years in direct patient care, she transitioned to Inventory Management/Admin, leveraging her detailed knowledge of clinic operations to ensure smooth and efficient service at Pioneer Vet Moses Lake.
