Discovering Deliciously Easy Pioneer Woman Braised Short Ribs

My usual beef repertoire is pretty standard – meatloaf, hamburgers – the everyday kind of meals. Steak has always been too fussy for my taste, needing to be cooked just so. So, when my husband came home with beef short ribs, I was a bit taken aback. My initial reaction might have resembled a confused puppy, but I promised to cook them up for him. Truth be told, I had no clue how to even begin braising short ribs.

That’s when I turned to Pinterest, and thankfully, discovered The Pioneer Woman’s Braised Short Ribs recipe. I’ve had great success with her recipes in the past, with only one minor butter-related incident (entirely my fault!). While I glanced at a couple of other recipes, I was really set on using my trusty Le Creuset dutch oven and avoiding a slow cooker.

This Pioneer Woman recipe turned out to be incredibly straightforward. The preparation was quick, and the aroma filling the house was simply amazing from start to finish. I followed the recipe exactly as written, and in just about 2.5 hours, I had the mouthwatering dish you see pictured. This recipe is definitely a keeper, already printed and filed in my “must-make-again” folder. Seriously delicious, seriously easy, and seriously devoured by my entire family – a rare occurrence! Nom nom nom indeed!
