I’ve been a long-time admirer of Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman. Her story is truly inspiring – from city life to marrying a rancher, homeschooling her kids, and building a media empire from her love of cooking and ranch life. She’s got a hit Food Network show, bestselling cookbooks, and countless product endorsements. Honestly, it baffles me when people try to find negativity around her brand. Whenever I express my appreciation for the Pioneer Woman, someone always jumps in to say she’s “fake” or her recipes are “too unhealthy” or that her lodge kitchen is just a TV set. Seriously, can we just stop with the cynicism?
Of course, TV shows are scripted and planned! It’s television. And yes, I would hope her actual family dinners aren’t filmed with a whole crew under hot lights. For me, Ree Drummond feels genuine. When I watch her show, I see a woman who loves cooking, photography, her husband, and her kids. What’s wrong with celebrating that? I’ve picked up tons of great cooking tips from her over the years. Her show inspired the coffeecake I made for a brunch last month. Thanks to her, my bruschetta is better than ever, and her Mexican Macaroni Salad is a family favorite. I even tried poached eggs again (still a work in progress!), but her caramel sauce recipe is unbelievably fast and delicious.

The scenarios on her show always seem relatable, and I can personally attest to the fact that her food is incredible. But the Pioneer Woman product I truly obsess over? It’s her hand-painted, floral KitchenAid mixer. It’s the same powerful stand mixer I have, but hers are absolutely gorgeous.

She had an orange Pioneer Woman mixer in her lodge kitchen for a while, but this new blue floral design is my absolute favorite. Isn’t it stunning? I’ve entered countless giveaways on her website and social media hoping to win one of these beauties, but no luck so far. So, I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands: I’m going to paint my own KitchenAid mixer! It’ll be way more personal and fun anyway, right? I briefly considered sharing a picture of my plain, old white mixer before its makeover, but decided against it. Instead, I’m thinking of channeling some Kandinsky for inspiration.
Time to dive into my Pinterest boards. I’ve saved tons of unique furniture designs, and I bet there’s some perfect artistic inspiration waiting there for my mixer transformation.

Simple and chic, right? I can totally envision this design on my stand mixer.
Hummingbird and biscuit design, another creative mixer painting idea.
High biscuits and a hummingbird? My husband would absolutely love this whimsical style.

I’m really drawn to these vibrant colors and this free-flowing technique. This could be perfect for a bold kitchen statement piece.
Mixer design with words, unique text-based kitchen appliance art.
Adding words could be a fun and personal touch. Imagine incorporating recipe names or kitchen-related quotes.

Painting my KitchenAid mixer is officially my exciting winter project. I can’t wait to get started and bring some Pioneer Woman style into my own kitchen!
