I recently upgraded my home internet to gigabit speed with Comcast Xfinity and implemented an Orbi AX4200 mesh system to extend the range of my existing XB7 Xfinity router. The result has been fantastic, with speeds between 500-800Mbps throughout my house, and all my smart devices are operating without a hitch.
My primary Orbi AX4200 unit is hardwired to the XB7, and most of my devices connected to the Orbi are working perfectly. However, I am encountering a persistent issue with my Pioneer Elite SC-97 AV receiver. Initially, it connects to the network, but it consistently drops the connection after a short period.
The receiver is configured for a wired connection, and network standby is enabled to allow access from other devices even when in sleep mode. This setup has worked flawlessly in previous network configurations. I’ve observed that the Pioneer receiver disappears from my list of wired devices after about an hour of operation.
To ensure a stable connection, I have directly wired the receiver to the AX4200 using different CAT5 cables to rule out any cable faults. Furthermore, I have reserved a static IP address (192.168.1.15) for the receiver within my router settings and mirrored this configuration on the Pioneer receiver itself. DHCP is turned off on the receiver, and the subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0. The default gateway and primary DNS server are correctly pointed to my Orbi router at 192.168.1.1.
For a brief time after setup, the connection is excellent – the speed test from the Pioneer iPhone app is impressive. However, inexplicably, the receiver then vanishes from the network device list and loses connectivity.
I am reaching out to the community for any insights or advice on maintaining a stable network connection for my Pioneer Elite receiver. I have already contacted Pioneer support, but any suggestions from experienced users would be greatly appreciated in the meantime.
