Washington City goes all out to commemorate Pioneer Day, an important holiday that celebrates the arrival of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley. Our fireworks pioneer day celebration is a highlight of the summer, bringing together residents and visitors for a day of patriotic festivities.
The day begins early with a hearty breakfast served by the Lions Club at 7 AM, setting the stage for a day packed with excitement. At 8 AM, the much-anticipated Pioneer Day Parade will proceed down Telegraph Road, showcasing local spirit and creativity. Following the parade, Veterans Park becomes the hub of family-friendly entertainment with children’s booths offering games and activities for all ages. Enjoy the park’s amenities and soak in the community atmosphere as we lead up to the evening’s main event.

As the afternoon progresses, the celebration moves towards the Washington City Community Center (W.C.C.C.), where you can continue the fun with swimming and other recreational activities. This provides a perfect way to cool down and relax before the evening’s grand finale.
And as dusk settles, all eyes turn to the sky for the fireworks pioneer day display. Launched from the Baseball Complex at Veterans Park, the fireworks will begin at 10 PM, painting the night sky with vibrant colors and dazzling patterns. Veterans Park, Telegraph, and the Baseball Complex are the prime viewing locations for this spectacular show.
