Maria Benitez revealed that her daughter, a resident of Deerfield Beach, had been in Miami celebrating a friend’s birthday shortly before her death. She also disclosed that Cittadini had a prior relationship with Lorent Pion, which ended, but Pion allegedly continued to stalk her.

“They had a relationship, he hit her, he hit my daughter, and they went to the cops to say something about it, she has a restraining order,” Benitez explained. She further detailed Pion’s persistent presence in her daughter’s life, stating, “Everywhere she went, he would appear.” According to Benitez, even a trip to New York did not deter Pion from appearing, highlighting the severity of the alleged stalking.
