Pioneer Cash & Carry: Bringing Authentic Indian Groceries to Riverside, CA

Pioneer Cash & Carry, a well-regarded specialty Indian grocer, is set to expand its reach into the Inland Empire, establishing a new location in Riverside, California. The family-owned business has purchased a 10,128-square-foot retail space at 9185 Magnolia Ave for $1.75 million, signaling a significant investment in the Riverside community. This new store will be conveniently situated next to a Family Dollar and directly across from a Stater Bros. Markets on Donald Avenue, promising accessibility for local shoppers seeking authentic Indian grocery options.

Established in 1982, Pioneer Cash & Carry has built a strong reputation over decades with its two existing locations in Artesia’s Little India. Owner Devraj Keray’s decision to open in Riverside marks the first venture into the Inland Empire, demonstrating the grocer’s confidence in the growing demand for specialty ethnic foods in the region. The company’s website emphasizes its long-standing commitment to providing “unique, fresh, quality ethnic foods,” a mission that will now extend to the Riverside area.

Shoppers at Pioneer Cash & Carry can expect a comprehensive selection of Indian and ethnic produce, alongside a vast inventory of branded goods imported directly from India. The store’s departments are designed to cater to diverse culinary needs, ranging from essential lentils, spices, rice, and flour to a variety of coffees, teas, and popular Indian snacks and cookies. Adding to the authentic experience, an in-house bakery will prepare fresh roti, pav, and thepla daily, offering customers freshly made flatbreads and rolls.
