To ensure everyone enjoys a pleasant and safe experience at our campground, we ask all visitors to observe the following park rules and regulations. These guidelines help maintain the park’s natural beauty and ensure a harmonious environment for all campers. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these essential rules before setting up camp at Pioneer County Park Campground.

Pioneer County Park Campground Regulations

To help your stay be as enjoyable as possible, please adhere to the following regulations during your visit to Pioneer County Park Campground:

1. Registration and Site Assignment:

  • First-Come, First-Served: Please note that Pioneer Park Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not currently accept reservations for campsites.
  • Visible Tag Required: All camping units must display a current park tag clearly visible to park management at all times throughout your stay. This tag confirms your registration and helps us manage the campground effectively.
  • Designated Campsites Only: Camping is permitted only within designated and marked campsites. Please select a site that accommodates your camping unit and ensure you are within the marked boundaries.

2. Campsite Usage and Limits:

  • One Unit & One Vehicle Per Site: Each campsite is designed to accommodate one camping unit (tent, RV, trailer, etc.) and one vehicle. This helps us maximize space and ensure comfortable spacing between campers.
  • Respecting Natural Features: To protect the park’s trees and structures, please refrain from attaching ropes or wires to trees or buildings within the campground.
  • Limited Doormat Size: To maintain the integrity of the grassy areas, doormats are permitted but should be no larger than 3 feet by 4 feet.

3. Waste Disposal and Environmental Responsibility:

  • Proper Trash Disposal: Help us keep Pioneer Park clean! All trash and waste must be placed in the provided garbage cans or dumpsters located throughout the campground.
  • Designated Dump Station: A dump station for recreational vehicle waste is conveniently located at the west end of the park for registered campers.
  • No Ground Dumping of Water: Discharging water onto the ground is strictly prohibited. This includes wastewater from washing. Specifically, the washing of vehicles, trailers, or motor homes within the campground is not permitted to protect the environment and drainage systems.
  • Ground Coverings: To protect the grass and natural ground cover, please do not place boards, pallets, blocks, or similar items directly on the grass at your campsite.

4. Campsite Orderliness and Safety:

  • Neat Campsite Arrangement: We encourage all campers to maintain a neat and orderly campsite. All items placed outside your camping unit should be arranged in a tidy fashion.
  • Campfire Safety: Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings or grills. Please exercise extreme caution when building and maintaining campfires. Never leave a campfire unattended and ensure it is completely extinguished before leaving your campsite or going to sleep.
  • Campsite Cleanliness Upon Departure: To ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors, please leave your campsite clean and neat upon your departure. “Leave No Trace” principles are highly encouraged.

5. Campground Facilities and Amenities:

  • Restrooms and Showers: Restrooms with shower facilities are available for the convenience of registered campers.
  • Shower Access for Non-Campers: For non-campers who wish to use the shower facilities, a fee of $2.00 per shower applies. Please pay this fee at the Park Office.

6. Family and Pet Considerations:

  • Parental/Guardian Responsibility: Parents and guardians are responsible for the supervision and conduct of their children at all times while within Pioneer Park Campground and throughout the park.
  • Pet Policy: We welcome pets (maximum of two per campsite) at Pioneer Park Campground! However, for the safety and comfort of all guests, pets must be kept on a leash (not exceeding ten feet in length) at all times when outside of your camping unit. Pets are not permitted inside park buildings or in the Wildlife Refuge area. Please do not leave pets unattended at any time. Pet disturbances, such as excessive barking, will not be tolerated. Pet Waste MUST be cleaned up immediately by the pet owner in all areas of the park and campground.

7. Water Activities and Safety:

  • No Swimming: Swimming is prohibited in all waters within Pioneer Park, including Pioneer Lake, Rock Lake, and the Peace River, to ensure safety and protect the natural environment.
  • Fishing and Boating: Fishing is permitted from the banks of Pioneer Lake, Rock Lake, and Peace River. Boats are allowed on the Peace River only, and a boat ramp is available for your convenience. Please ensure you have the necessary licenses and permits for fishing and boating activities.

By following these rules, you contribute to a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone at Pioneer County Park Campground. Thank you for your cooperation and have a wonderful time exploring the natural beauty of Pioneer Park!
