This rigorous academic background paved the way for his dental studies at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Recognized for his potential, Dr. Edwards was awarded a prestigious Air Force scholarship, setting the stage for a distinguished career in service and private practice.
Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Edwards dedicated several years to the United States Air Force Dental Corps. During his military service, he was stationed at Nellis AFB in Nevada and Travis AFB in California. His service also included short tours at Creech AFB, NV, and Naval Base San Diego, CA, broadening his experience and exposing him to diverse patient needs. After honorably completing his service to the nation, Dr. Edwards returned to his roots in Walla Walla, eager to apply his expertise in a community he calls home and at Pioneer Family Dental.
Dr. Edwards’ dedication to dentistry is evident in the numerous accolades he has received throughout his career. These honors include the Outstanding Senior Award and the Hollibert E. Phillips Scholastic Achievement Award, recognizing his early academic excellence. His military service was also distinguished by multiple CGO quarterly awards and the Air Force Commendation Medal. Further demonstrating his commitment to professional growth and mastery, Dr. Edwards has achieved Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, a testament to his advanced skills and comprehensive knowledge. He actively participates in leading dental organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association and its state and local chapters (the Washington State Dental Association and the Walla Walla Valley Dental Society), and maintains membership in the Academy of Dental Materials, ensuring he remains connected to the broader dental community and upholds the high standards of Pioneer Family Dental.
