Key Responsibilities

  • Sanitation Excellence: Execute comprehensive cleaning and sanitation procedures adhering to strict company protocols and regulatory guidelines. This includes detailed equipment disassembly, thorough chemical cleaning, and meticulous sanitation of all production areas.
  • Vigilant Inspection and Monitoring: Perform routine inspections of equipment and facilities to proactively identify sanitation concerns or maintenance needs. Diligently monitor cleaning supplies and equipment inventory, promptly reporting any shortages or needs for replenishment.
  • Regulatory Compliance Champion: Ensure strict adherence to all pertinent food safety and sanitation regulations, including FDA, USDA, and HACCP standards. Stay informed about regulatory updates and implement necessary adjustments to sanitation procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Detailed Documentation: Maintain precise records of all sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, comprehensive inspection reports, and detailed sanitation logs. Assist in preparing thorough documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Team-Oriented Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with production and quality assurance teams to seamlessly integrate sanitation activities with production schedules. Maintain open communication with colleagues to address any sanitation-related issues and cultivate a strong culture of cleanliness and heightened food safety awareness.
  • Continuous Improvement Advocate: Identify and champion opportunities for process optimization and enhanced efficiency in sanitation procedures. Actively participate in training sessions and engage in continuous learning to remain at the forefront of best practices in sanitation and hygiene within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime and non-standard hours as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of production schedules and sanitation needs.
  • Undertake all other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the facility and maintain our high standards of cleanliness.

Minimum Requirements

Education/Certifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory. Additional education or certifications in food safety or sanitation are highly preferred and will be considered a strong asset.
  • Proven experience in sanitation roles, ideally within a food manufacturing or processing environment. Prior experience in flour milling is a significant plus.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and industry-leading sanitation best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to meticulously follow detailed instructions and work autonomously with minimal supervision, showcasing initiative and self-direction.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively within a team environment, fostering positive working relationships and contributing to team goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • The role involves daily and frequent exposure to typical elements found in a manufacturing environment, including dirt, dust, fumes, odors, and varying levels of noise and vibration.
  • The work environment involves daily exposure to potential physical risks and hazards inherent in a manufacturing setting, such as proximity to mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical and electrical hazards.
  • The position demands the physical capability to stand and walk extensively throughout the office, warehouse, and plant areas. It requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and involves frequent fine dexterity tasks, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis.
