The Pioneer Football League (PFL) has officially unveiled its 2025 conference football schedule, setting the stage for another exciting season of NCAA Division I FCS action. The upcoming season marks the 33rd year for the Pioneer Football League, the nation’s only non-scholarship, football-only FCS conference, and will feature a total of 44 games between its 11 member institutions. Each team in the conference will compete in an eight-game league schedule, all vying for the coveted title of league champion and the PFL’s automatic qualification bid to the NCAA Division I Football Championship.
The 2025 college football season at the Division I FCS level is set to kick off during the week of August 30th. Pioneer Football Conference play will commence in Week 5, starting on Saturday, September 27th, with four key matchups. Drake University, the reigning conference champion, enters the 2025 season under the leadership of new head coach Joe Woodley. The Bulldogs are scheduled to begin their title defense in Week 6, hosting Valparaiso University. Notably, the Dayton Flyers’ conference schedule for 2025 will not include games against Marist College and St. Thomas University. The complete Dayton football schedule, including non-conference games, will be announced at a later date.
