TWU Pioneer Gymnastics Welcomes Stellar 2022 Signing Class

DENTON, Texas – Texas Woman’s University’s Pioneer Gymnastics program is thrilled to announce the addition of four exceptional student-athletes. Head coach Lisa Bowerman revealed on Wednesday, National Signing Day, the exciting news that Brooke Ferrari, Rubylyn Goad, Allison Landry, and Kamille Zarlengo have officially signed National Letters of Intent to join the Pioneers.

“This 2022 signing class is undeniably special for pioneer gymnastics,” stated Bowerman. “These four remarkable young women embody the talent, character, and competitive spirit that will propel our program to even greater heights. The future is incredibly bright for these Pioneers and for TWU Gymnastics as a whole.”

Brooke Ferrari, hailing from Longmont, Colorado, brings a wealth of experience to the pioneer gymnastics squad after graduating from Silver Creek High School. Ferrari’s journey in gymnastics includes eight years with Airborne Gymnastics, highlighted by her contribution to the 2019 Level 10 Team state championship and her qualification for the 2019 national championships. Demonstrating her passion for the sport beyond competition, Brooke has also volunteered at the Boulder Recreational Center, sharing her skills by teaching youth gymnastics.

“Brooke is an athlete who masterfully blends power and grace in her gymnastics routines,” Bowerman commented. “Her capabilities suggest she can make an immediate impact in our Uneven Bars and Floor Exercise lineups. Furthermore, she possesses the potential to enhance her Vault and Balance Beam skills, aiming to become a four-event competitor. Brooke’s exceptional work ethic will undoubtedly elevate the competitive standard within our lineups.”

Rubylyn Goad, a talented gymnast from Newnan, Georgia, comes to pioneer gymnastics from Newnan High School. Her four years at the Newnan School of Gymnastics were marked by significant achievements, including competing on a state champion team and securing the all-around state champion title.

“Ruby’s infectious smile has the power to light up any room, yet it beautifully contrasts with her intense competitive focus,” Bowerman remarked. “She is an incredibly gifted all-around athlete, and we anticipate her quickly securing a place in our Balance Beam and Floor Exercise lineups. With her talent, she also has the potential to soon contribute in the other two events. Ruby is sure to captivate our fans and leave an indelible mark on the history of TWU Pioneer Gymnastics!”

Allison Landry, a local talent from Pearland, Texas, attended Pearland High School and honed her skills at Pearland Elite. Landry has achieved impressive personal best scores, including 9.700 on Vault and Uneven Bars, 9.350 on Balance Beam, and 9.500 on Floor Exercise.

“We are thrilled that Ally has chosen to continue her gymnastics journey in her home state of Texas,” said Bowerman. “Ally is an exceptionally talented athlete who is poised to make an immediate impact on our pioneer gymnastics program. She has the potential to compete in all four events in her very first year. Ally’s gymnastics style is a stunning combination of elegance and strength. She will undoubtedly become a favorite among fans at Kitty Magee Arena and in every competition venue across the nation!”

Kamille Zarlengo, a Littleton, Colorado native, joins the pioneer gymnastics team from Chatfield Senior High School, where she has distinguished herself as an honor roll student. Her 15 years of gymnastics experience come from Incline Gymnastics Training Center. Kamille is a two-time Western qualifier and achieved national qualifier status in the spring of 2021.

“Kami is the quintessential ‘total package’ student-athlete, bringing outstanding leadership qualities and strength across all four events to pioneer gymnastics,” Bowerman emphasized. “Kami is an athlete we have been closely following for some time. From our first encounter at a camp, we were deeply impressed by her drive, discipline, and unwavering commitment to her team and personal goals. Kami will positively influence our program in countless ways, both within the gym and beyond.”
