Dear Pioneer Water Customer, we are writing to inform you about upcoming changes to your monthly water bill and account management, effective May 2024. These updates are designed to improve our services and provide you with more efficient ways to manage your Pioneer Rural Water account.
One significant change you will notice is a new account number on your monthly statement. Please carefully note this new number and use it for all future communications and payments. This includes mailing correspondences and utilizing online banking services. Using your new account number will ensure timely processing of your payments within our upgraded system.
Another update concerns payment methods and service fees. Historically, Pioneer Rural Water has covered the credit card transaction fees for customer payments. However, due to the increasing costs associated with these fees, we will no longer be able to absorb them. Therefore, a service fee of 2.95% will be applied to all credit card payments. This applies to transactions made in person at our office, through our website (www.pioneerwater.net), and via phone payments.
To offer more payment flexibility, our new system introduces the option to pay via electronic check with a service fee of $1.95 per check. It’s important to note that Pioneer Rural Water does not receive any portion of these service fees. These fees are levied and collected by FIS Corporation for processing these transactions. You will see these charges listed on your monthly statement as “L2G* Pioneer water”.
We continue to offer several payment methods without any service fees. You can still make payments with cash at our office or drive-thru window, checks (mailed, in-person, or drive-thru), and bank drafts set up for automatic payments from your checking account. For after-hours convenience, we also have a night drop box available at our drive-thru window.
Looking ahead, our new software will enable us to offer convenient email billing. In the near future, you will have the option to receive your bill via email or receive an email notification when your bill is available to view online. If you are interested in this paperless billing option, please contact us with your preferred email address, and we will update your account when this feature becomes available.
