Her career encompassed a variety of crucial roles, from shaping young minds as a teacher and refining instruction as a coach, to leading schools as a principal and guiding curriculum and human resources at the district level. For 28 years, she poured her energy into Ponca City Public Schools, an institution she holds dear. Her exemplary leadership and unwavering advocacy for quality education were recognized when she was named District 4 Oklahoma Superintendent of the Year in both 2020 and 2023, accolades that speak volumes about her expertise and dedication.

Upon her retirement from the public school system, Arrott seamlessly transitioned into the role of President and CEO of the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce on June 5, 2023. This move demonstrated her continued commitment to the prosperity of Ponca City. Her extensive network and deep-rooted service within the community have enabled her to effectively champion growth and engagement in this new capacity. Beyond her professional roles, Shelley Arrott actively contributes to numerous local and state boards, including Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, United Way of North Central Oklahoma, Ponca City Public School Foundation, University Center Foundation, and the Poncan Theatre Board.
