Established in 1974, Pioneer Village Museum is located in the former Hot Sulphur Schoolhouse, a building constructed in 1924. Beyond the schoolhouse itself, the Pioneer Village site encompasses several historically significant structures. These include the Hot Sulphur courthouse, which served from 1891 to 1902, and the county jail, operational from 1897 to 1937. Visitors can also explore a traditional blacksmith shop and the “Horseshoe Ranger Station,” thoughtfully transformed to represent a typical ranch house from the early 1900s. Adding to the educational experience is the presence of the 8 Mile School, which played a role in local education from 1920 to 1942.
