Operating from May 1st through Labor Day, between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm, it’s the perfect place to beat the heat. The Pioneer Water Park is designed with safety and enjoyment in mind, making it an ideal spot for families to spend quality time outdoors.

Pioneer Park has a rich history, with land acquisitions spanning from 1973 to 2008. This 34.55-acre park, conveniently located next to Pioneer Elementary School, is not only a recreational hub but also a haven for local wildlife. The park’s passive woodland area is home to bluegills, snakes, ducks, geese, and various tree species like Maple and cottonwood. The wetland area in the southern part of the park showcases turf grass, reed canary grass, and willow trees, creating a diverse ecosystem within the community park. While enjoying the Pioneer Water Park and other modern amenities, visitors can also appreciate the natural beauty and history intertwined within Pioneer Park.

Looking for the perfect outdoor venue for a picnic or gathering? Pioneer Park offers pavilion rentals from May 1st through August 31st. The Pioneer Pavilion, situated centrally within the park near the Pioneer Water Park splash pad, provides a covered space with four picnic tables and a capacity of 50 people. Reservations can be made easily online or in person at the West Chicago Park District office. Pavilion rental rates are $65 for residents and $78 for non-residents per day (9:00 am to dusk), and are non-refundable and non-transferable.
