  • 1 Meaty Ham Bone (or alternatives, see notes above)
  • 2 ½ cups Pinto Beans, dry
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 large Bay Leaf
  • 5 cloves Garlic, minced (or to taste)
  • 1 large Onion, diced
  • ½ teaspoon Dried Thyme Leaves
  • 2 sprigs Fresh Rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt (or to taste, add at the end)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse your ham bone, especially if it has any glaze or fruit on it.
