Pioneer Chevrolet and Dealership Group Welcomes New Ownership in Marietta and Parkersburg

Two established automotive dealerships in Marietta, Ohio, and one in Parkersburg, West Virginia, have transitioned to new ownership, marking a significant development in the local automotive landscape. The Tim Lamb Group, a prominent brokerage firm specializing in automotive dealership transactions, facilitated the sale between Richard Nourse and the new owners, Thomas and Ashley Peden. This acquisition includes Pioneer Chevrolet, a cornerstone dealership in Marietta, alongside Family Ford Lincoln in Marietta and Pioneer Honda of Parkersburg.

The deal, finalized on October 17th, presents an exciting opportunity for Thomas and Ashley Peden to expand their growing dealership platform. While Pioneer Chevrolet will retain its well-known name at its current location on Pike Street in Marietta, Pioneer Honda of Parkersburg, situated on Garfield Avenue, will be rebranded as Parkersburg Honda. Family Ford Lincoln, also located on Pike Street in Marietta, will adopt the name Pioneer Ford Lincoln, aligning it with the established Pioneer brand presence in the region.

Richard Nourse, who has served the Ohio and West Virginia markets for over 35 years, made the strategic decision to sell these three dealerships to concentrate on his remaining five dealerships in Chillicothe. These dealerships represent Ford, Honda, Lincoln, Nissan, and Toyota brands, allowing him to focus his expertise within that market.

Nourse expressed that selling wasn’t initially on his radar, but the opportunity to sell to the Pedens proved compelling. He stated, “I’ve heard great things about the Pedens and the accomplishments they have achieved in the Zanesville market, and I knew they would be great stewards to continue what we have built in the community.” This highlights the strong reputation and successful track record of the Pedens in the automotive retail sector.

Thomas Peden II, a West Virginia native and third-generation car dealer, is enthusiastic about this expansion. Having acquired his first dealerships in Zanesville in June 2020, this new venture further solidifies his commitment to the automotive industry in the region. His sister, Ashley Peden, joined him in 2020 to manage the Zanesville Honda Toyota dealerships and is now a partner in this latest acquisition, demonstrating a strong family-driven approach to the business.

The proximity of the dealerships, all within a 15-mile radius and near the Pedens’ hometown, ensures a hands-on approach to management. The Pedens are committed to retaining the existing team and maintaining the dealerships’ involvement in local community organizations, ensuring a seamless transition and continued community support. This acquisition signals a promising new chapter for Pioneer Chevrolet, Pioneer Ford Lincoln, and Parkersburg Honda, under the leadership of experienced and community-focused owners.
