Welcome to Pioneer County Park! To ensure a pleasant and safe experience for all our visitors, we kindly ask you to observe the following park rules. Pioneer Park is owned and operated by the County Government, and we appreciate your cooperation in maintaining its beauty and order. For all camping units, please ensure a current and visible tag is displayed for park management.
Here are the guidelines to follow during your visit:
- First Come, First Served Camping: Please note that reservations are not accepted at Pioneer County Park. Camping sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing for spontaneous visits and flexibility in your travel plans.
- Designated Camping Areas: To preserve the natural landscape and ensure organized camping, please camp only in designated campsites. This helps maintain the park’s layout and prevents overcrowding.
- Campsite Vehicle Limit: Each campsite is limited to one camping unit and one vehicle. This regulation helps manage parking space and maintain the park’s open and spacious feel.
- Protect Park Trees and Structures: For the health and longevity of our park’s trees and buildings, attaching ropes or wires to them is prohibited. We encourage you to use freestanding structures for your camping needs.
- Doormat Size Restriction: To keep campsites tidy and prevent excessive wear on the grass, please use doormats no larger than 3’x 4’. This small detail contributes to the overall cleanliness of the park.
- Proper Trash Disposal: Maintaining a clean park environment is a shared responsibility. All trash must be disposed of in the provided garbage cans or dumpsters. Your cooperation in keeping the park litter-free is greatly appreciated.
- Dump Station Availability: For the convenience of our camping guests, a dump station is located at the west end of the park. Please utilize this facility for waste disposal.
- No Ground Water Dumping: To protect the park’s environment and water quality, dumping water on the ground is strictly prohibited. This includes the washing of vehicles, trailers, or motor homes within the park premises.
- Ground Cover Preservation: To protect the grass and natural ground cover, please refrain from placing boards, pallets, blocks, or similar items directly on the grass.
- Campsite Orderliness: We encourage all visitors to maintain a neat and orderly campsite. All items placed outside should be arranged in a tidy fashion, contributing to the park’s aesthetic appeal.
- Responsible Campfires: Campfires are permitted within Pioneer County Park, allowing for a traditional camping experience. However, we urge you to exercise caution and ensure fires are managed responsibly and safely.
- Campsite Cleanliness Upon Departure: To ensure a welcoming environment for all future visitors, please leave your campsite clean and neat upon your departure. This simple act of courtesy helps maintain the park’s pristine condition.
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: Restrooms with showers are available for the comfort of our registered campers. For non-campers, showers are available for a fee of $2.00 per shower, payable at the Park Office.
- Parental Supervision of Children: The safety and well-being of children are paramount. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times while within Pioneer County Park.
- Pet Policy: Pets are welcome at Pioneer County Park (limit of two per campsite). However, for the safety and comfort of all guests, pets must be kept on a leash (not exceeding ten feet) at all times. Pets are not allowed inside park buildings or near the Wildlife Refuge area. Please do not leave pets unattended, and pet disturbances will not be tolerated. It is mandatory that pet owners clean up all pet waste promptly.
- No Swimming Policy: For safety reasons, swimming is prohibited in all waters within Pioneer County Park. Please enjoy the water views and other park activities instead.
- Fishing and Boating Opportunities: Fishing is permitted from the banks of Pioneer Lake, Rock Lake, and Peace River, offering a relaxing recreational activity. Boats are allowed on Peace River only, and a boat ramp is available for your convenience.
Thank you for adhering to these rules and helping us maintain Pioneer County Park as a wonderful place for everyone to enjoy. We hope you have a memorable visit!
