This hybrid role offers a unique blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, requiring three days per week at their Titusville, NJ location and two days remote. This 12-month contract, with the potential to extend up to 24 months and the possibility of permanent hire, provides a stable and rewarding career path for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas
This Medical Information Specialist position is crucial in developing and disseminating evidence-based scientific materials, particularly for payer-related audiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical writing and experience working with payer assets such as AMCP dossiers, compendia, and Medicaid formulary requests. This role is not aligned with a Medical Affairs strategy, Regulatory, or R&D background; instead, it requires a focus on practical medical writing and information dissemination.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Development of Scientific Materials: Lead the creation of tailored, evidence-based scientific content for assigned therapeutic area products.
- Payer Dossier Expertise: Support the development of AMCP standard and pre-approval dossiers, Medicaid formulary requests, and customized requests in collaboration with Medical Affairs and Real-World Value & Evidence (RW V&E) teams.
- Digital Asset Innovation: Contribute to the shaping and development of Payer Digital Assets, partnering with Med Info CSI-Digital teams to enhance digital communication strategies.
- Responding to Medical Information Requests: Work closely with RW V&E Field teams, Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area teams, and the Medical Information Scientific Engagement Contact Center to create and deliver responses to unsolicited Medical Information Requests from Payers and Health Systems.
- Clinical Decision Resource Organization (CDRO) Support: Support the dissemination of scientific information to Clinical Decision Resource Organizations (CDRO) in partnership with Medical Information Affairs, RW V&E, SCG, and Therapeutic Teams.
- Compendia Interaction: Support interactions with drug compendia and collaborate with relevant teams to evaluate and optimize strategies for compendia engagement.
- Vendor Management and Quality Assurance: Ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality payer scientific content by vendors, providing real-time feedback and scientific review.
- Voice of Customer and Metrics Analysis: Leverage customer feedback and data to identify actionable insights for enhancing payer and health system materials, ensuring content relevance and impact.
- Projects and Research: Participate in ad-hoc projects and activities as assigned by management, including benchmarking and research on the evolving landscape of payers, healthcare intermediaries, and health systems.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Educational Background: An MS or equivalent in Pharmacy or a related science field is required. An advanced degree such as a PharmD or PhD is strongly preferred, highlighting the need for deep scientific understanding.
- Relevant Experience: A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Medical Information or Health Economics and Outcomes Research is essential. Specialized postdoctoral training in these areas is also highly valuable.
- Industry Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in the healthcare industry with strong clinical knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Leadership and Collaboration Skills: Excellent leadership, collaboration, influencing, and communication skills (both written and presentation) are critical for success in this matrix environment.
- Cross-Functional Team Experience: Proven expertise working effectively in a matrix environment with cross-functional teams.
- Customer Focus: A strong customer focus with a drive to provide excellent customer service and a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, particularly concerning payer needs and perspectives.
